  • Welcome to St. Francis Xavier School!

At St. Francis Xavier, our children receive the finest quality education rooted in the tradition and values of Catholic faith in a safe and respectful environment. We provide a challenging curriculum that is age-appropriate. Our children are happy and enjoy their learning environment. Our teachers are kind, caring and sensitive to the needs of their students.

Our 8th graders receive numerous scholarships from Bronx and Westchester Catholic High Schools as well as admissions into prestigious New York City Public High Schools such as Bronx High School of Science. Parents work collaboratively with Administration through the Home-School Association to create fun activities for all children. Our school will afford your child the very best Catholic education and experience. We hope that you will join our family here at St. Francis Xavier .

    • Ash Wednesday
, which marks the beginning of the Lenten season, is on Wednesday, February 26.  Lent gives us a perfect opportunity to show our love for God through our ministry to those in need.

As you know, this year at SFX, we have embraced many service projects for those in need.  For Lent, 2020, we will be partnering with a fellow Catholic School, Immaculate Conception School in Tuckahoe, to support the work of Reverend Hugh B. Marriott who leads a mission trip to Guatemala each year.

Reverend Marriott would like to bring Beanie Babies or small stuffed animals with him to Guatemala for distribution to put a smile on the faces of many children, seniors, and some adults who would welcome the gift of a small furry friend to warm their hearts.  While these items may be seen as small gestures, to a Guatemalan family, this act demonstrates the love that is in our hearts for others.

We will have bins set up in both the Main Building and the Annex to collect your gifts for those in need in Guatemala.  Our collection will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 26 and conclude on Wednesday, April 8.

    • The St. Francis Xavier Holy Name Society is once again teaming up with Big Deal Supermarket to sponsor our Annual Lenten Fundraiser,
"Shop and Drop" at Big Deal Supermarket
It is the perfect way for our school community to give back to our beloved Church for Easter.

Beginning on Friday, February 21 and continuing through Easter Sunday, April 12, parents, students, and parishioners shopping at Big Deal Supermarket, located at 1018 Morris Park Avenue, can contribute to the fundraiser by dropping their sales receipts into the big jar located in the front of the store after they have checked out.

A percentage of all sales during this period will be donated to the Church of St. Clare of Assisi and St. Francis Xavier.  This annual tradition raises funds for needed church repairs, church programs, and other projects, without our having to ask parishioners for monetary donations.  Last year, $7,119, a record amount, was raised.  Since the Fundraiser's inception in 2010, $61,350 has been raised.  Mr. Dolgow, SFX's Substitute Teacher and Vice President of the SFX Holy Name Society, will be serving as a coordinator for our Lenten Fundraiser.

We thank you in advance for your support of the crucial Lenten Fundraiser.  God bless you for all you do, not only for the St. Francis Xavier School, but for St. Francis Xavier Church.  We are truly grateful.
